The sun streamed in from the window in the alcove and made gold patterns on the dark panelling.	Из окна в нише струились лучи солнца, разрисовывая золотыми узорами темную обшивку стен.

Nothing was covered up.	Я ошиблась - чехлы были сняты.
There were brushes and combs on the dressing-table, scent, and powder.	На туалетном столике лежали гребни и щетки, стояли пудра и духи.
The bed was made up, I saw the gleam of white linen on the pillow-case, and the tip of a blanket beneath the quilted coverlet.	Кровать была застелена - поблескивало белое полотно наволочек, из-под пикейного покрывала выглядывал верх одеяла.
There were flowers on the dressing-table and on the table beside the bed.	На трюмо и тумбочке возле кровати стояли цветы.
Flowers too on the carved mantelpiece.	И на резной доске над камином - тоже.
A satin dressing-gown lay on a chair, and a pair of bedroom slippers beneath.	На кресле лежал атласный пеньюар. На полу рядом стояли домашние туфли.
